Well we've survived our first day and a half of berry season. The berries are just beautiful, and very sweet. Today we celebrated our 10th anniversary. On April 27, 2001 we sold our first berries. Can't believe it's been 10 years and we have grown from a little over one acre to nine acres this year. A big thank you to all our customers! Hope to see everyone at the farm real soon.

What crazy weather we had last week. We went from overhead sprinkling our berries to cool them down two days last week--to a couple of sleepless nights worrying about frost at the end of the week. Let's hope all this cold and way to hot weather is gone for the year.
The berries are looking good and we hope to open for berry season by sometime the last week on April.
The greenhouse tomatoes are also looking great. We have just picked the first three tomatoes of the season. The first three are traditionally eaten by Kenneth and I, one for my mom and one for Kenneth's dad. Everyone agrees they are delicious as always. We hope to have a few to sell by sometime next week.
We'll let everyone know when we open to sell tomatoes and strawberries. We'll update our blog, put a message on our facebook page, and also send out a note to our email customers.
Back to work for now!

Well the rain has finally eased a bit and the temps are a little better than at my last writing. We have been busy uncovering the strawberries. They appear to have weathered the winter pretty well. They already have a few blooms, so spring will be here before we know it. Hopefully this weeks dry weather will allow us to get through the fields by the end of the week, and do some much needed work on the strawberry crop. Since last writing we have planted some cabbage in the field, and hopefully will get some spring onions and potatoes planted soon. The greenhouse tomatoes are looking great. We hope to have some for sale by the middle of April. It's too early to know what date we will open for strawberries, but hopefully by the end of April. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Until next time--take care.
